The DEVA DB8009-MPX is a professional MPX and audio silence monitor with advanced backup capabilities, designed to keep FM transmission on-air without interruption. It supervises composite MPX, analog, digital and IP audio sources and automatically switches to a predefined backup path if silence or failure is detected. With a fully DSP-based core and integrated stereo encoder, it can regenerate a stable MPX output even when using analog, digital or IP backup audio inputs. This makes it ideal for broadcasters who require robust redundancy in single stations or multi-site networks.
Engineers can configure and monitor the DB8009-MPX through a web interface, SNMP, front-panel LCD and soft keys, ensuring flexible integration into modern IP-centric facilities. The unit supports alert notifications by email, SNMP and opto-isolated outputs, allowing fast reaction to silence events. A built-in MP3 player with embedded FTP server and generous storage provides long, non-repeating backup playlists, managed remotely over standard TCP/IP networks. The DB8009-MPX includes balanced analog and AES/EBU I/O on XLR, MPX inputs and outputs on BNC, plus a front-panel headphone jack for local monitoring.
