Biquad APG‑02 FM Audio Processor

Biquad APG-02 FM Audio Processor is designed for FM stations that want a strong, controlled on-air sound without investing in more complex multi-band systems. Its analog three-band architecture combines simplicity with effective performance, making it a practical choice for community, commercial and educational broadcasters that need plug-and-play processing.

At the input, APG-02 uses a wideband AGC leveler to stabilise the average level coming from the studio mixer. This is followed by a multiband compressor/peak limiter stage that splits the audio into three independent frequency bands, controlling peaks and maximising loudness while keeping the sound balanced and pleasant. After processing, the unit includes a professional stereo generator with high channel separation (typically above 60 dB at 1 kHz) and a final composite (MPX) clipper that limits modulation peaks, helping the station stay within legal limits while sounding competitive on air.

The rear panel of the Biquad APG-02 provides electronically balanced audio inputs and an MPX output ready to feed the FM transmitter or MPX switch, with full-range power input from 90 to 240 V AC for flexible installation. On the front panel, a VU meter shows input audio level and MPX output level, and an output level control allows precise adjustment of the processed signal. APG-02 is supplied with factory presets and has no complex user adjustments, so once installed between the studio and transmitter it is effectively plug-and-play apart from the final transmitter modulation setting.
