Glensound Virgil Dante is a stereo studio headphone amplifier that provides a simple, high quality interface between Dante or AES67 network audio systems and broadcast headphones. Designed to be mounted under desks or in commentary positions, it delivers crystal-clear monitoring wherever a network headphone circuit is required.
The unit receives two audio circuits from the Dante network and routes one to the left and the other to the right channel of the internal headphone amplifier, allowing stereo or dual mono feeds. Virgil uses Glensound’s unique headphone amplifier circuit that automatically sets the correct output level to match the impedance of the attached headphones, so both low and high impedance models reach a consistent listening volume without manual recalibration. The design supports standard stereo headsets and mono earpieces, making it equally suitable for studio operators and television presenters’ IFB ear pieces.
Power and audio are supplied over a single Ethernet cable via PoE, greatly simplifying installation and cabling. A front-panel volume control provides straightforward level adjustment, while 6.35 mm and 3.5 mm headphone jacks offer flexibility for different headphone types.
