The Glensound GS-SW002A is a compact 1RU audio switching unit designed for broadcast analogue signal routing. It houses eight 2-way relays, with two sets of balanced audio inputs and one balanced audio output per relay, making it suitable for source changeover between studios, transmitters, or backup programme paths.
The unit is powered from a wide-range 100-240 VAC internal supply and also accepts +12V DC external power. In normal operation, outputs are derived from one input set, and when an external GPI or loop is triggered the relays switch to the alternate input set. In the event of power failure, outputs automatically revert to the normally closed inputs for fail-safe continuity.
Balanced audio inputs are presented on two AES59 (Tascam) standard D25 connectors for normally open and normally closed relay contacts, while audio outputs are on a third D25 connector. The Glensound GS-SW002A also provides four separate loop inputs, internal link assignment for relay control, front-panel loop indication LEDs, and a tally output for external status indication.
