Biquad ALO Nano is a compact 1-line analog telephone hybrid designed for external broadcasts and studio use where clean, stable phone calls are required. Its hybrid interface lets one caller participate on air via a standard POTS line or PBX extension, with clear audio and controlled send–return levels.
Biquad ALO Nano uses a fully electronic active hybrid circuit, without bulky transformers, and includes Biquad’s ECO OFF echo cancellation to provide around 50 dB isolation at 1 kHz between send and receive paths. Balanced audio inputs and outputs are transformer-isolated on XLR connectors, giving good shielding and immunity to noise in mobile or studio setups. The unit requires no mains power, drawing operating current directly from the telephone line, which makes it easy to deploy in remote locations and temporary studios.
RFI filters are fitted on the telephone line input and the audio I/O to minimise electromagnetic interference, and lightning protection on the line input helps safeguard the hybrid and connected equipment from surges. ALO Nano works with telephone line voltages from roughly 20 to 50 V and a minimum current of about 20 mA, covering most conventional POTS lines and PBX extensions. A rear-panel gain control sets the audio send level, while the front panel provides an ON/OFF key to answer or release the call, a call indicator LED, and separate controls for the return level to the caller and the output level to the mixing console.
Biquad ALO Nano pairs naturally with on-air studio consoles such as the
Solidyne MiniMixer 7‑channel console and
Solidyne UNIDEX UX24 24‑channel IP console, creating a complete call‑in chain where phone audio is fed directly to the mixer for level control, routing and on‑air switching.
