Description

Tieline, a leading Codec Company, has proudly announced that its MPX II codec has been honored with the RedTech Best In-Show Award at IBC2023 in Amsterdam. The RedTech Award is a prestigious recognition presented annually to outstanding technical innovations in broadcast products and solutions introduced over the past year.

This achievement marks the European debut of the MPX II codec at IBC2023, where it secured the Best In-Show Award. Charlie Gawley, Tieline’s VP Sales APAC/EMEA, expressed the company’s delight at receiving this accolade and highlighted that it is the third award for the MPX II, following Best in Show and Product of the Year recognitions at the NAB Show earlier in the same year.

The MPX II codec from Tieline is designed to provide composite FM multiplex (MPX) codec solutions for real-time network distribution. It facilitates the transport of uncompressed FM-MPX or compressed MicroMPX (µMPX) signals to transmitter sites at significantly lower bit-rates. The codec can efficiently transmit two discrete composite FM-MPX signals from the studio to transmitters, featuring return monitoring capabilities. It supports analog MPX on BNC, MPX over AES192, and multipoint signal distribution, offering a range of flexible composite encoder and decoder solutions. Additionally, the MPX II codec features an optional satellite tuner card with MPEG-TS and MPE support for receiving DVB-S or DVB-S2 signals.

Charlie Gawley highlighted that the MPX II leverages Tieline’s extensive audio encoding expertise to distribute composite signals flexibly, reliably, and cost-effectively to transmitter sites. The award not only recognizes the efforts of the entire Tieline team in designing and manufacturing the product but also acknowledges the valuable feedback from SAVE Diffusion in creating this innovative MPX codec. Engineers at IBC reportedly responded positively to the product.

The MPX II codec is expected to be available for shipping later in the year, offering broadcasters a cutting-edge solution for their broadcasting needs. For more detailed information, interested parties are encouraged to contact Broadcasters Warehouse sales.
