Description
Tieline MPX 1
Professional FM-MPX IP Codecs with Optional μMPX Satellite Tuner
Overview:
The Tieline MPX I codec offers an advanced solution for the real-time network distribution of FM-MPX or MicroMPX (μMPX*) signals to transmitter sites. The MPX I is perfect for transmitting a composite STL signal from a single station with return monitoring, while the MPX II is capable of transporting two discrete composite FM-MPX signals from the studio to transmitters, also with return monitoring.
Key Features:
- SD Card Backup: Ensures continuous operation by providing file failover capabilities.
- Dual Ethernet Ports: Equipped with Dual Gigabit (10/100/1000) RJ-45 LAN ports for IP streaming and control.
- Dual Internal Power Supplies: Provides redundancy to maintain operation if one power supply fails.
- Multicast & Multi-Unicast: Multi-unicast μMPX signals reduce CAPEX and OPEX at studio and transmitter sites. Supports multicast of uncompressed MPX or compressed μMPX signals.
- Redundant Streaming: Includes hitless packet switching, RIST, and Forward Error Correction (FEC) for enhanced reliability.
- GPIO Support: Compatible with GPIOs in MPX or μMPX modes.
- Full Remote Control: Managed via HTML5 Toolbox Web-GUI, Cloud Codec Controller, and includes automated alarms and SNMP monitoring.
- Analog and Digital Support: Compatible with both analog and digital MPX signals, facilitating network transitions to all-digital setups over time.
- Monitor Demodulated MPX: Allows monitoring of demodulated MPX at the encoder or decoder.
- Transport Compressed μMPX: Transmits uncompressed MPX or compressed μMPX signals to reduce bandwidth requirements.
- MPEG-TS Over Satellite: Optional satellite tuner card supports MPEG-TS and MPE, receiving DVB-S or DVB-S2 signals.
- Return FM Monitoring: Monitors demodulated MPX locally or streams an external signal back to the encoder for monitoring.
Applications:
- Studio to Transmitter Link (STL): Transmits FM composite signals from the studio, enabling centralized audio processing and RDS data insertion. This reduces capital and operational costs by minimizing the need for processing equipment at transmitter sites, leading to lower power consumption, reduced wiring, and fewer site visits for maintenance and support.
- Signal Distribution: Composite MPX over IP signals can be easily replicated and distributed using multicast and multi-unicast technologies. The robust redundancy features, such as redundant streaming, RIST, FEC, and SD card file failover, ensure reliable signal distribution.
Operating Configurations:
- Single or Dual MPX Composite Encoding/Decoding: Capable of encoding/decoding up to two point-to-point MPX/μMPX composite signals.
- MPX/μMPX Composite with Monitoring: At the encoder, monitor the demodulated local MPX input or the return feed. At the decoder, monitor the MPX output or the secondary MPX feed, which can be the local MPX input or the secondary stream.
*Optional features and future release capabilities are indicated with asterisks and carets.
These advanced capabilities make the Tieline MPX I and MPX II codecs versatile tools for broadcasters seeking efficient and reliable distribution of FM-MPX signals.
