Tieline Bridge-IT II TLR6100 stereo IP audio codec is designed for broadcasters who need dependable point-to-point or multi-point IP audio without the cost and complexity of large multi-channel platforms. Its compact half-rack 1RU chassis allows two units to be mounted side-by-side in a single 19-inch rack space, ideal for small studios and crowded technical areas. The codec supports stereo or dual mono operation so stations can use one device for a main programme feed, a contribution path or a bidirectional coordination channel.
The codec supports a wide range of encoding formats including Opus, AAC-LC, AAC-HE, AAC-ELD, Enhanced aptX, G.711, G.722, MPEG Layer 2 and linear PCM for uncompressed links. High-quality 24-bit A/D and D/A converters combined with wide audio bandwidth and low distortion preserve programme quality from studio to receiver. Balanced analog XLR connectors, AES3 digital I/O and AoIP interoperability with AES67, ST 2110-30, Livewire+ and RAVENNA make it straightforward to integrate the Bridge-IT II codec into existing studio and transmission infrastructures.
Dual Ethernet ports provide flexible separation of management, streaming and AoIP traffic or allow one interface to be dedicated to specific networks. SmartStream PLUS redundant streaming sends multiple audio streams over diverse IP paths to improve resilience on public internet or mixed WAN links, while Fuse-IP can bond up to three IP interfaces for additional robustness. The codec supports multi-unicast to several endpoints and multicast on compatible networks, and can also deliver HTTP Icecast or Shoutcast streams alongside file playback from SD card for automatic audio failover.
A front-panel OLED screen and keypad give engineers direct local control, while an HTML5 web-GUI and optional Cloud Codec Controller provide full remote configuration, monitoring and connection management. Support for SNMP, SSL-secured control and detailed IP statistics makes it easy to supervise Tieline Bridge-IT II TLR6100 from central NOCs or engineering laptops. Four relay inputs, four opto-isolated outputs and an RS-232 port allow control and signalling of external equipment at either end of the link, so the codec can form part of larger automated workflows for studio, STL and contribution circuits.
Engineers considering the Bridge-IT II codec may also evaluate other AoIP codecs with multi-format support, redundant networking and flexible I/O.
