TEKO SYNAPSE 50W is a professional low-power FM transmitter for local radio broadcasting and exciter applications. Adjustable output from 0 to 50 W allows engineers to set the required operating level, while its compact 19-inch, 1U chassis saves rack space. The transmitter can operate as a standalone low-power source or drive a compatible external RF amplifier.
TEKO SYNAPSE 50W covers the 87.5–108 MHz broadcast band with programmable 10 kHz tuning steps. Microprocessor-controlled synthesis maintains frequency stability of ±1 ppm from −5 to +50°C. Mono and composite MPX configurations support programme feeds from compatible studio and processing equipment. An optional stereo coder enables direct stereo operation; RDS/RBDS encoding and TCP/IP web control with SNMP are also optional, rather than standard features.
A front-panel LCD, rotary encoder and status indicators provide access to operating settings and monitoring information. The 50-ohm N-type RF output connects to the antenna feeder or amplifier input, while a BNC monitor output provides an RF sample at −46 dBc. Automatic power fold-back responds when VSWR exceeds 1.5:1, helping protect the output stage against antenna or feeder mismatch.
XLR audio inputs and a BNC composite input accommodate different programme chains. Selectable flat, 50 µs or 75 µs pre-emphasis allows configuration for the applicable broadcast standard. A DB9 telemetry connection supports remote connections. The wide-range AC supply and internal brushless cooling fan make the transmitter suitable for fixed-site and rack-based installations. Adequate ventilation and the correct antenna load remain essential during operation.
