The Orban OPTIMOD XPN-Enterprise is a Linux-based 1RU audio processing platform that centralises processing for multiple radio stations and streams. Using OptiCloud technology, a single server can handle up to 8 FM, 8 HD/DAB+ and 8 internet channels, giving 24 fully processed outputs. This suits groups that want a consistent signature sound, central control and AoIP-first connectivity.
At the core is the Orban OPTIMOD XPN-Enterprise server which hosts the processing engines and talks to FM/HD and AES nodes over redundant AoIP links. Each input is processed independently using multiband OPTIMOD algorithms with dedicated chains for FM, HD/DAB+ and streaming. FM/HD nodes generate digital and analog MPX, uMPX, AES3 and analog outputs, and also handle RDS and watermark insertion.
Configuration and monitoring use the XPN-Enterprise Dashboard for Windows, macOS and Linux. Engineers adjust Less‑More controls, manage presets, schedule changes and monitor alarms for all nodes from a single interface. This architecture lets networks place shared processing in a data centre or hub while feeding multiple transmitter sites and streaming encoders with consistent, fully legal audio.
A single server can process up to 8 FM, 8 HD/DAB+ and 8 streaming channels, with more capacity available by adding servers and nodes.
The Orban OPTIMOD XPN-Enterprise supports dual redundant AES67 and SMPTE 2110/2027 networks and can integrate with Livewire+ and other AoIP ecosystems via compatible nodes.
Yes, a wide range of OptiCloud factory presets is supplied, and Less‑More controls make it easy to refine a custom sound while keeping processing stable.
For single-transmitter installations, Orban’s stand‑alone OPTIMOD processors such as the
5950
offer similar processing chains in traditional hardware. For software‑only deployments with fewer channels,
OPTIMOD-PCn 1600
provides Windows-based processing for simpler streaming or DAB+ operations.
