Description
MARIAN Clara E/D – 16 AES/EBU channels
MARIAN Clara E/D – 16 AES/EBU channels is designed for engineers who need tight integration between high-density Dante AoIP networks and local AES/EBU equipment inside a single workstation or server.
With up to 1024 Dante channels and 16 channels of AES/EBU I/O at 24-bit/192 kHz, this PCIe audio system is an ideal core for OB trucks, broadcast control rooms and production environments where AoIP and baseband digital audio must work seamlessly together.
Dante AoIP and AES/EBU integration
The MARIAN Clara E/D interface connects directly to Dante networks via dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, providing redundant Dante connections and AES67 support for interoperability with other AoIP systems.
Onboard routing offers up to 1024 x 1024 Dante channels, allowing flexible mapping between networked sources, the internal DSP mixer and the 16 AES/EBU channels for hybrid workflows that combine consoles, routers and legacy digital devices.
This makes marian-clara-e-d a powerful bridge between AoIP and AES/EBU infrastructure, often removing the need for separate format converters and external routers.
DSP mixing and system reliability
Like other Marian PCIe systems, MARIAN Clara E/D includes a 64-channel BEAST DSP mixer with EQ, enabling latency-free monitoring, summing and signal distribution directly on the card.
Fanless design and PCIe 4-lane architecture ensure reliable 24/7 operation, while support for wordclock and superclock in the “+” version allows precise synchronization with external master clocks.
The card is cascadeable via TDM SyncBus, so multiple Marian boards can be combined into a single expanded system that appears as one device to ASIO-compatible applications.
Drivers and platform support
The MARIAN Clara E/D – 16 AES/EBU channels interface provides multi-client drivers for Windows, including ASIO 2.2, WDM, WASAPI, DirectSound and MME, allowing several software applications to address the interface simultaneously with low latency.
Driver support for Linux and macOS makes marian-clara-e-d suitable for mixed operating system environments, such as automation servers, ingest systems and production workstations on the same Dante network.
Alternatives
For installations that require pure Dante PCIe connectivity without AES/EBU I/O on the same card, the Marian Clara E Dante PCIe interface focuses entirely on high-channel-count AoIP workflows.
Where local AES/EBU I/O is the priority without network audio, the Marian Clara D AES/EBU PCIe sound card delivers 16 AES/EBU channels for pure baseband digital setups.
For hybrid analog and AES installations, the Marian Clara A/D PCIe interface combines multichannel analog and AES/EBU connectivity in a single card for flexible studio configurations.
