Glensound SPARK 3 Dante Commentary Unit gives one commentator a compact position for programme audio, headphone monitoring and three separate talkback routes. Designed for broadcast, sports and remote production, its small desktop enclosure is useful where commentary-desk space is limited. Audinate’s Broadway Dante chipset connects the unit to a networked audio system, while PoE supplies power through the locking EtherCON network connection.
Three Talkback Channels
Glensound SPARK 3 has illuminated controls for the programme microphone and three talkback circuits. Each talkback can be routed to its own Dante output, allowing communication with separate production destinations. GlenController provides remote configuration and monitoring, including button behaviour and whether activating talkback mutes the main programme microphone.
Microphone and Headphone Monitoring
A rear-panel 3-pin XLR accepts the commentator’s microphone. Adjustable gain, switchable 48 V phantom power and Glensound’s compressor/limiter help manage speech levels during live coverage. The 6.35 mm headphone output supports headphones from 32 to 1000 ohms. Incoming Dante cue feeds can be mixed for the commentator, with further headphone settings available in GlenController.
Dante Network Integration
The unit appears in Dante Controller with eight inputs and eight outputs. Four inputs and four outputs support core commentary operation, leaving four of each available for other network-audio uses. The headphone mix is also available on Dante outputs 3 and 4, while output 8 carries a 1 kHz line-up tone.
For fewer physical talkback controls, compare the Glensound SPARK 1 with one channel or the Glensound SPARK 2 with two. Choose SPARK 3 when a single commentator needs three directly accessible talkback channels without moving to a larger commentary panel.
Glensound SPARK 3 Dante Commentary Unit
Glensound SPARK 3 is a compact single-user Dante commentary unit with three talkback channels, a professional microphone input, headphone mixing and PoE power.
