The Glensound Signature SD1+ is a professional silence detector for broadcast and audio installations that need automatic failover to prevent dead air. The 1U rack-mount unit monitors a primary stereo source and switches to a backup input when the signal falls below a configurable silence threshold. It can operate in stereo mode or as two independent mono channels, with adjustable fail threshold and delay settings to suit different programme types.
The Glensound Signature SD1+ includes smart fail and smart recovery modes to reduce false triggering from clicks, pauses, or brief dropouts. Recovery timing is configurable, with automatic or manual return to the main source. In stereo operation, if one channel fails, the remaining good channel can be routed to both outputs so listeners continue receiving programme audio while engineering alarms are still triggered. Audio performance includes frequency response of ±1dB from 22Hz to 22kHz, THD of 0.008% at 1kHz, and maximum input and output levels of +24dB and +24dBu.
GPIO connectivity provides six solid-state relay outputs and four control inputs for remote status and switching functions. The auxiliary input includes a switchable +10dB gain option for lower-level sources, and fail-safe relays bypass the main input directly to the outputs if power is lost. Power can be supplied from 100-240VAC mains or external ±12V DC.
