Eddystone S7605C – 5kW FM Transmitter

Eddystone S7605C is a 5kW compact FM transmitter that uses hot-pluggable 300W amplifier and switched-mode power supply modules with N-way RF combining to deliver efficient, serviceable high power FM broadcast output.

Overview – Eddystone S7605C 5kW Compact FM Transmitter

Eddystone S7605C 5kW compact FM transmitter is a modular high power platform that delivers up to 5kW RF output in a reduced footprint cabinet.
Compact amplifier and PSU modules can be replaced while on air, so engineers see only a small reduction in output power during maintenance instead of a full outage.
The design meets ETS 300 384 FM transmitter specifications and supports a wide range of system architectures, including combined systems for higher powers.

The drive input feeds an internal 16-way splitter that provides RF drive to sixteen E2021 power amplifier modules.
Each module uses dual packaged MOSFET devices mounted on substantial heatsinks to improve cooling and RF stability.
Outputs from the modules are combined in an N-way RF power combiner and then pass through the output coupler and harmonic filter to maintain excellent spectral purity and low reflected power.
PA and SMPSU modules are shared across the 7600 range from 500W to 20kW, helping networks minimise spare parts and standardise maintenance.

Each E2021 amplifier module provides its own control and protection against reverse power, excess current and over-temperature.
On-board microprocessors monitor operating conditions and send key data to the E2023 transmitter controller.
The front-panel backlit LCD shows forward and reverse power, supply status and module alarms in a clear format.
Remote control and monitoring options, including TCP/IP interfaces, allow integration with station control systems for status reporting and power management.

Eddystone S7605C provides up to 5kW RF output that can be reduced by 6 dB across the 87.5–108 MHz FM broadcast band into a 50 ohm unbalanced load, using a 1–5/8 inch EIA RF output connector as standard.
The transmitter can maintain full power into loads up to 1.5:1 VSWR before protection circuits reduce output, helping to protect the RF chain during antenna or feeder faults.
Single or three-phase 176–264 V AC mains input is supported, and overall efficiency is typically around 63 percent from AC in to RF out.
These capabilities make Eddystone S7605C a strong choice for regional and national broadcasters who need a compact, modular high power FM transmitter with robust protection and low operating costs.
