DEVA DB4005 FM Modulation Analyser and Monitoring Receiver

DEVA DB4005 FM Modulation Analyser and Monitoring Receiver combines SDR-based reception with DSP signal analysis for professional broadcast monitoring. It measures RF, modulation, stereo audio and RDS/RBDS parameters, while an external MPX input supports direct composite-signal checks. Front-panel metering, browser-based access and configurable alarms give engineers local and remote visibility of station performance.

FM Reception and Modulation Analysis

Dual 50-ohm BNC antenna inputs and a selectable RF attenuator support off-air monitoring. Regional tuning ranges cover CCIR, OIRT and Japanese FM services, with selectable tuning steps and IF filter bandwidths. The analyser displays total, positive and negative deviation alongside pilot, RDS and audio levels. Built-in oscilloscope and FFT spectrum views help investigate signal behaviour, while measurement history provides context beyond an instantaneous reading.

External MPX and Audio Measurements

The rear-panel MPX input accepts an external composite signal from equipment such as a stereo encoder or composite STL receiver. This allows engineers to inspect the signal independently of off-air reception. Integrated loudness analysis supports ITU-R BS.1770-4 and EBU R128, while RDS/RBDS decoding includes group analysis and bit-error-rate measurements. Balanced analogue, AES/EBU, S/PDIF and optical audio outputs provide flexible monitoring connections.

Remote Monitoring, Logging and Alarms

DEVA DB4005 includes a 50-channel data logger, web and FTP servers, and real-time audio streaming. Ethernet supports remote configuration and monitoring, with USB available for local communication. Adjustable thresholds cover RF, pilot, audio, MPX, MPX power and RDS levels. Alarm delivery includes email, SNMP and GPO; SMS reporting and GSM-based remote listening require the optional external GSM modem. An OLED display and LED bar graphs support operation at the rack.
