Biquad DIST-28 Audio Distribution Amplifier is designed to route high-quality audio from one or two sources to multiple destinations in professional studios, transmission sites and live sound systems. It provides two electronically balanced inputs on XLR connectors and eight active outputs, each with independent front-panel level control so signals can be tailored for the equipment they feed.
The Biquad DIST-28 can operate in stereo or mono modes. In stereo mode, the left and right inputs are treated as two separate channels and distributed as four stereo pairs across the eight outputs, which is ideal for feeding multiple recorders, processors or studio zones. In mono mode, the left and right inputs are summed and the same mono signal is available on all eight outputs, allowing a single programme to be sent cleanly to a larger number of destinations without level loss or impedance problems.
On the rear panel, DIST-28 offers two balanced XLR inputs, two balanced XLR thru outputs and eight balanced XLR distribution outputs. The thru outputs let the original source continue to feed other equipment directly, keeping the eight distribution outputs free for additional destinations or redundancy paths. Front-panel gain controls and a digital VU meter provide accurate visual feedback when setting input and output levels, ensuring clean operation with very low noise and distortion.
