Barix Exstreamer 100 IP Audio Decoder

Barix Exstreamer 100 IP Audio Decoder receives network audio streams and converts them to analogue stereo output for an external amplifier, mixer or powered speakers. Its compact aluminium enclosure suits installations where network audio must connect to conventional audio equipment. Stereo RCA connections and a 3.5 mm audio output provide local connection options, with software-controlled output level.

Network Audio Reception

The 10/100 Ethernet interface supports connection to compatible IP audio sources. Published audio formats include MP3, AAC, AAC+, HE-AAC v2, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, PCM and G.711. Available network protocols include TCP/IP, UDP, RTP and SIP. Actual playback and protocol combinations depend on the installed application firmware, so select the software configuration that matches the intended streaming source and operational workflow.

USB Storage and Serial Integration

Barix Exstreamer 100 includes a USB interface for compatible external storage, supporting application-dependent local audio playback. Its RS-232 port provides serial connectivity for local control or tunnelling, with published speeds from 300 to 230,400 baud. Green and red status LEDs indicate device state, while a reset button supports restarting the unit and restoring factory settings.

Compact Installation and Powering

The Barix Exstreamer 100 decoder operates from an external 9–30 V DC or 12–24 V AC supply through a 2.1 mm barrel connector, with maximum published consumption of 6 W. Regional packages include different power-supply arrangements, and a no-PSU version is available. Optional mounting accessories support rack or wall installation. The line-level outputs require suitable downstream audio equipment; the unit is not a power amplifier for driving passive loudspeakers directly.
