The Broadcasters Warehouse Band II Folded Dipole Antenna is a rugged FM broadcast radiator for 87.5-108MHz operation in Band II. Based on a half-wave folded dipole, it provides an omni-directional azimuth pattern with vertical polarisation and is suitable for main services, gap-fillers, translators, and standby antennas on FM transmission sites. A single bay offers nominal 0dBd gain with VSWR typically better than 1.5:1 and return loss better than 14dB across the specified band.
Multiple bays can be stacked in a vertical array using suitable power dividers and phasing harnesses to increase system gain and narrow the vertical beamwidth, allowing coverage to be shaped around local terrain and regulatory limits. The radiator uses a 15.8mm aluminium folded element mounted on a 31.75mm square aluminium boom, with the feed point fully encapsulated in polyurethane resin for long-term weather protection. A rear-mount clamp arrangement secures the antenna to the supporting mast, and the lightweight construction keeps wind loading and mechanical stress low.
The Broadcasters Warehouse Band II Folded Dipole Antenna is engineered for continuous operation at up to 300W per bay, with higher power multi-bay systems available on request. It pairs well with suitable FM transmitters matched to the required carrier power, power dividers and phasing cables for 2, 4 or 8-bay arrays, low-loss 50Ω coaxial feeder, and in-line lightning arrestors to protect the transmission line. Together, these components form a complete, scalable FM antenna system for professional broadcast installations.
