The Aqua Broadcast CH-1 is a versatile 1+1 changeover controller for redundant FM broadcast systems. It supervises two exciters or low-power transmitters and controls either its internal RF relay or external high-power RF switches to maintain on-air service. Built on the COBALT platform, it combines RF power sensing, flexible interlocks and intuitive control to minimise downtime during faults or planned maintenance. The unit integrates easily into existing FM transmitter installations and complements the wider Aqua Broadcast product line for consistent operation and monitoring.
The Aqua Broadcast CH-1 provides RF inputs and outputs on N-type connectors for its internal relay paths, plus D-Sub interfaces for external RF switches and transmitter control. Additional connectors support antenna and load interlocks, GPIO, Ethernet, USB and +48V DC power, enabling integration with a wide range of RF hardware and facility control systems.
In daily use, the Aqua Broadcast CH-1 monitors RF power and status signals to trigger fast, predictable changeovers when needed. Engineers can manage the system locally from the front panel or remotely via browser and SNMP, with clear indication of active paths and alarms. Scheduled tests and flexible timing options help ensure backup equipment is always ready, improving resilience at main, backup and translator sites.
