Product Overview

Thimeo MicroMPX is an FM STL codec that transports a complete composite MPX signal, including stereo pilot and RDS, over IP at remarkably low bitrates. Instead of sending linear audio and recreating the MPX at each transmitter, the codec lets you centralise processing and RDS at the studio and distribute the final composite signal to one or many sites. This simplifies infrastructure, reduces hardware at remote locations and keeps your on-air sound perfectly consistent across the network.

System Details

A Thimeo MicroMPX encoder at the studio accepts the composite output of your audio processor or FM processor and converts it to an efficient IP stream at the selected bitrate. One or more decoders at transmitter or gap-filler sites reconstruct the original MPX, ready to feed an FM exciter directly. Web-based configuration offers control of input levels, tilt correction, delay, redundancy and security, along with real-time meters and spectrum displays.

Advanced timing options, including GPS-based synchronisation on supported platforms, make the solution suitable for single-frequency networks where precise alignment is critical. By moving the “brain” of the system to the studio and using IP for transport, Thimeo MicroMPX provides a modern, flexible STL path that is easy to monitor, easy to back up and ready for today’s distributed FM installations.
