RigExpert WGPA500 10W GaN Power Amplifier provides bidirectional RF amplification across 100–1200 MHz for compatible communication and test systems. It combines a transmit power stage with receive amplification and automatic RX/TX switching. The nominal continuous transmit output is 10 W, while the manufacturer also publishes up to 13 W at the 3 dB compression point; these are different operating ratings rather than interchangeable output guarantees.
The RigExpert WGPA500 amplifier supports UAV control systems, amateur radio, IoT development and laboratory measurements. Its 50-ohm RF interfaces simplify connection to compatible radios, antennas and test equipment. Receive gain is specified at 8.6 dB, while the maximum transmit input level is 30 dBm, equivalent to 1 W. Check the connected radio’s output before installation rather than assuming that any transmitter can drive the amplifier directly.
RigExpert WGPA500 uses signal-level detection to switch automatically between transmit and receive modes. When no transmit signal is present at the input, it returns to receive operation. This arrangement supports integration where automatic changeover is required without routine manual switching. Confirm compatibility with the intended radio waveform and operating pattern during system testing, particularly when switching behaviour is important to link performance.
The specified DC supply range is 12–24 V, with 18 V recommended. SMA female connectors provide the RF connections, while a four-pin JST PH2.0 connector provides the power interface. Reverse-polarity protection is included. Its compact format suits integration into a larger assembly, but the installation must still account for cooling, secure mounting, cable routing and suitable output filtering. A custom low-pass-filter cutoff is available upon request and should be confirmed when ordering.
