The Delta Electronics RF Ammeter (TCA) series offers AM broadcasters a reliable tool for measuring common point and antenna base currents. Utilizing a toroidal current transformer, the ammeter samples RF current and converts it into a DC voltage for accurate current display. The ammeter also includes relays for remote control and outputs for remote indications.

Description

The RF Ammeter system consists of three main components:

  • Toroidal Current Transformer (TCT) Unit: Available in three models (TCT-N, TCT-N-HV, TCT-N-XHV), each designed for different conductor voltage ratings (10 kVRMS, 20 kVRMS, 42.4 kVRMS).
  • Rectifier/Meter Unit: Converts the RF sample voltage to a DC voltage for meter display. It offers local meter control and dual-scale options.
  • Interconnecting Coaxial Cable: Standard six-foot 50-ohm cable, with optional longer or double-shielded versions available.

  • Calibration: Factory calibrated at 1 MHz with a guaranteed accuracy of ±2% full scale, adjustable to ±1% using the linearity correction chart. Calibration is warranted for one year, excluding lightning damage.
