The Barix Instreamer Classic – Network IP Audio Encoder is a compact, standalone device that converts analog audio into IP streams for delivery over LANs and the internet. With stereo line-level inputs and support for MP3, PCM and VoIP codecs, the Barix Instreamer Classic is ideal for radio streaming, paging, monitoring and many other audio-over-IP applications.
The Barix Instreamer Classic samples and encodes audio from any analog source, from mixers and tuners to playback devices, and sends the resulting stream across the network with low latency. Encoding options range from high-quality constant or variable bitrate MP3 up to 192 or 320 kbps through to linear PCM and telephony-grade G.711/G.722, allowing you to balance audio quality against available bandwidth.
Streams can be unicast, multicast or used as a Shoutcast/Icecast source, making the Barix Instreamer Classic suitable for public internet radio, internal streaming, STL links and background music distribution. Configuration is handled through an integrated web interface, while features such as AutoIP, SonicIP and IPzator simplify network setup by announcing or automatically assigning IP addresses. Audio level supervision and SNMP traps support integration with broadcast monitoring systems.
