Allen & Heath Qu-16 – A Compact and Budget-friendly Digital Mixer
The Allen & Heath Qu-16 Chrome Edition rackmountable digital mixer utilizes the technology found in the GLD and iLive digital mixing systems to create a powerful and compact mixer for live and studio use. Expanding on the original Qu-16, the Chrome Edition adds 16 channels of automated mic mixing, a spectrogram display, and additional monitor mixes. This powerful 16-channel mixer offers 14 mixes, an easy-to-use touchscreen, multitrack recording, motorized faders, and much more. You can even use your iPad to take control of key functions of the mixer, including key settings, monitor mixes, front of house mix, and more. Add a powerful digital mixer to your rig with the Allen & Heath Qu-16 Chrome digital mixer.
Chrome Edition adds more monitor mixes, spectrogram, and Automatic Mic Mixer
The Qu-16 Chrome Edition expands on the already impressive Qu-16 mixer, while also adding high-contrast, metallic-finished controls. A spectrogram display has been added to help you find feedback and problem frequencies fast. More monitor mixes are now available. And the Qu-16 Chrome Edition’s Automatic Mic Mixer mode automatically balances up to 16 microphone inputs, perfect for conferences, panel talks, and TV shows. It’s ideal for novices and volunteers that may not be comfortable mixing a large number of mics, and it’s also great for pros who have more important things to do than ride faders.

A powerful, feature-laden digital mixer
Allen & Heath’s rackmountable Qu-16 digital mixer makes a fantastic mixing solution for live applications, studio work, and installations. This digital mixer gives you 16 TRS/XLR inputs, three TRS stereo inputs, 16 buses, and four stereo effects returns. You’ll appreciate the flexibility the Qu-16’s connectivity creates. You’ll also love the Qu-16’s four onboard effects engines, AES digital output options, moving faders, and direct-to-multitrack recording capability. A large touchscreen makes it easy to navigate the Qu-16’s functions, and iPad compatibility means even more control over your mixes. We’ve only scratched the surface of what this powerhouse can do; call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer today and find out more!
Integrated USB recording
Record your shows and rehearsals with the Allen & Heath Qu-16’s built-in Qu-Drive. This integrated USB recorder works with an external USB drive and lets you record and play back up to 18 channels of 24-bit/48kHz audio straight to/from your USB hard drive. In the studio, you can use the Qu-16 as a USB audio interface into your DAW.

Take control with the Qu-Pad app
Take complete control of the Allen & Heath Qu-16 digital mixer with the Qu-Pad iPad app. Roam the venue to check the sound while tweaking the mix and EQ of the system. Simply set up a Wi-Fi router and gain control of all the live mixing parameters you need, right on your iPad. You can personalize the GUI to create your own control panel, perfect for offering customized control for any application. Mixing a show has never been this easy.
Powerful functionality added in v1.9 software
The Qu series ecosystem is constantly being refined, and v1.9 of the Qu software adds even more functionality. More mic presets for Shure, Sennheiser and Audio-Technica mics are now available, making it easier than ever to dial in great sound fast with any mic in any application. You’ll find a ton of advanced iPad control options too, like the ability to patch channels between dSnake, USB, Qu Drive and ME personal monitoring systems. You can set up various User profiles with different levels of permissions, manage your Scene memory, Copy/Paste channel settings, and manage USB devices. And v1.9 adds Windows DAW control support, for all popular Windows platforms.

Assigning an Input Channel to an Output Bus – Switches at the top of the channel are used to select the output group routing ,to either Program ,Audition ,or both output busses. Selecting the PGM and/or AUD buttons routes the channel audio to the PGM and/or AUD mix busses. The buttons illuminate green to indicate the routing status. or Balance – The BAL/PAN control is used on mono channels to pan the mono input signal in the stereo image and on stereo channels to balance the stereo image. the selection is cancelled on release ,otherwise the button is alternate action. routing and timers ,etc. When unlit ,the channel is off. Flashing red indicates that the channel has been selected to ON but not routed to either PGM or AUD. Steady red indicates that the channel is ON and “armed” ,ready for the fader to be raised. Raising the fader changes the illumination to green indicating that the channel is live. Alternatively ,with the button unlit the fader may be raised and the channel can be operated simply by selecting ON. The illumination in this case toggles between unlit (channel OFF) and green (channel ON). every button on each channel can be set to a number of different modes to aid the use of the mixer and allow for extra functionality. Each button can be set to either operate manually ,be permanently on ,or permanently disabled. Also ,the ON button can be configured to operate in a number of modes ,altering remote start functions ,and the channel ON function can be controlled remotely by automation playout systems ,such as RCS® or VCS. |
