The DARK88 MKII boasts 8 analogue electronically balanced audio inputs on Neutrik XLRs, ensuring high-quality audio transmission into the network. Simultaneously, it receives 8 channels of audio from the network, delivering them as analogue outputs with precision and clarity.
This break in/break out box effortlessly accommodates network sample rates of up to 192kHz, providing an exceptional audio experience. Built to withstand the demands of resilient broadcast applications, the DARK88 MKII features redundant power supplies and redundant Dante network links.
With both primary and secondary network links equipped with magnetic (copper RJ45) and fiber (SFP) interface connections, the DARK88 MKII ensures a reliable and robust network infrastructure. The Dante system itself establishes a transparent redundant link system, ensuring a seamless transition to the secondary link in case of a primary link failure, with zero loss of audio.
For added flexibility, the internal network switch can be configured to function as a traditional network switch, allowing connections to other Dante or network devices. The front panel is equipped with LED indicators for power supply and network link status, providing at-a-glance monitoring. General Purpose Outputs (GPO) are also included for external indication of power supply and network status.
The front-panel placement of network connections, designed to match rack-mounted professional network switches, streamlines installation and cable tracing. Users have the option to select their preferred fiber type and connector style by installing their own fiber SFP modules, with a variety of modules available from Glensound.
Featuring the Audinate Brooklyn module, the DARK88 MKII is AES67 compliant, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of audio devices. Choose between the DARK 88 MkII with Dante interface or the DARK 88/R MkII with Ravenna interface based on your specific requirements.
